Ticket details confirmed

We’ve moved in to Manchester.

Gigs are coming thick and fast! Today we’re very excited to announce our November 3rd issue launch headliner will be a woman who even left the sunny climate of LA to live in Manchester – Jesca Hoop. She crossed the Atlantic on advice from Elbow’s Guy Garvey, who declared himself a big fan. Another notable believer in her music is the hugely influential Tom Waits. He had this to say about her sound… “Like a four-sided coin. She is an old soul, like a black pearl, a good witch or red moon. Her music is like going swimming in a lake at night.”

With people like Tom Waits providing complements need we say much more? Jesca was raised in a musical Mormon family and sang from an early age, but left these roots aged sixteen. She settled in Los Angeles, where her reputation as an incredible live performer quickly grew. Since moving to England she’s been on tour with Elbow and Eels as once again her fan-base has grown exponentially. Third album ‘The House That Jack Built’ is incredibly varied, as Jesca lives up to the four-sided coin description. It’s a fusion of light and dark elements, chilling and uplifting in equal measure. Listen to the comical yet sinister lyrics of ‘Hospital’ HERE to see the duality for yourselves…

Support comes from fellow Manchester resident Josephine. Her debut album, Portrait, comes out in early October, and has already received plenty of praise. Working with the likes of Leo Abrahams and Ed Harcourt, it’s a beautiful debut with hints of bossa-nova, soul, jazz, and swing. She’s previously toured with the esteemed Jimmy Cliff, and Paolo Nutini so expect one hell of a show. Tickets are just £8 and those who get down early can pick up a free issue of the magazine too. We expect this one will sell out incredibly quickly so get your tickets below before they go!
