In Pictures: Oliver Tree Hits London
Oliver Tree has never seen anything quite like Camden before.
Growing up in America, he's been drip fed this idea of Britain, one that includes Hugh Grant, four weddings, and potentially a funeral.
Yet here he is, the few hours before his debut London show, being chased down the street by busking goths and being offered a Paul Weller t-shirt at a cut-price rate.
Often compared to Juice WRLD but with a more tongue-in-cheek vibe, the rap meme maestro smashed home with debut single 'Hurt' last year. F
ollow up singles 'Alien Boy' and 'When I'm Down' followed suit, cranking up 30 million (and above) streams and almost the same amount of headlines.
Selling out Camden Underworld, he caught up Clash photographer Eleonora C. Collini on a rainy North London afternoon.
Afterwards, he offered these words about the trip:
“UK audiences have a much easier time letting loose then American audiences. Our Camden show was no exception. When the mosh pit opened up, the wall of death formed and the kids ran into each other head first. It was beautiful.“
