Touring tales from those who know best...

In rock terms, Feeder have been there and done that.

One of the most commercially successful acts of their generation, the band have found triumph and endured tragedy, developing a huge - and intensely loyal - fan-base along the way.

Still pushing ahead - new album 'All Bright Electric' drops shortly - the group love getting back out on the road, spreading the gospel on a gig-to-gig basis.

Recently kicking off yet another lung-bursting nationwide jaunt, Feeder are the perfect guides for the latest instalment of Good Trip, Bad Trip.

Grant Nicholas looks back on more than a decade in the game...

Best Trip…
Touring the USA in the 90’s was incredible. We played 42 States and lived the rock and roll dream.

Worst Trip…
Touring Europe with Creed back in the 90’s. The singer got ill and cancelled the tour after three shows, we lost a fortune. Not our band of choice to tour with I can assure you, but we needed a tour in Europe around our second album 'Yesterday Went Too Soon'.

Our favourite foreign venue…
I love The Paradiso in Amsterdam. It‘s basically a big church and has a great atmosphere. Also Le Bataclan in Paris is a lovely venue and I still can’t get my head around what happened, tragic.

We’re surprisingly popular in…
We have quite a lot of Chinese fans which surprises me as we have only played a festival in Hong Kong once. There are definitely rock fans in China which is good to hear.

Best or worst exotic foodstuff…
I love Japanese food and have tried some interesting cuisine while touring there. Raw horse was one and Taka ate a live fish at Tokyo’s fish market.

Most interesting individual you've met on the road…
You meet all kinds of interesting people on the road

Worst on-tour injury, or infection, or accident…
I broke my cheek bone and rib which were both extremely painful. The rib was on our tour bus in America during a heavy night of Jagermeister.

My essential travel item…
Laptop, box sets, noise cancelling Bose headphones, ear plugs, painkillers, multi-vitamins and something to read.

My essential travel tip...
Drink plenty of water, manuka honey and keep away from the snorers on the bus.
