Simone Rocha is reclaiming the word pretty, one collection at a time. From girlish pinks and pearl trims, to lace details and feminine shapes, with the Irish (London based) designer behind it, pretty is modern and intriguing, youthful (not young).
And so the case remains for her forthcoming J Brand collaboration, set to launch on 14th November.
Comprised of romantic shades – pink, red and black – the 14-piece denim collection is doused in frills and ruffles, details that, similarly to Christopher Shannon’s debut womenswear collection, don’t feel overbearing but instead relevant; relevant to the wardrobes of women who don’t typically do girly, who might otherwise run a mile from a frock deep in excess fabric.
“It’s an exciting prospect to work on this project, learn from J Brand’s denim expertise and watch how it will evolve in the run up to the winter launch,” the 2013 BFC Emerging Designer winner remarks of the hook up.
The collaboration, a follow up to similar J Brand partnerships with Proenza Schouler and Christopher Kane, will be a Dover Street Market exclusive until 1st December when the collection will launch in stores including Selfridges, Browns and Net-a-Porter.
