Just in time for Chinese New Year (the year of the Ox, in case you were wondering), Ralph Lauren has unveiled a new collaborative capsule collection with Hong Kong-based streetwear label CLOT.
Founded in 2003 by Edison Chen and Kevin Poon, CLOT aspires to spread Eastern influences and fashion to a worldwide market. Making a name for itself in recent years with big brand collaborations with the likes of Nike and Stüssy, CLOT is embracing the American dream with a Polo Ralph Lauren partnership.
Drawing on their own archives with classic Eastern and Western references, the result of this collaboration is an expertly curated line of iconic Americana with fine East Asian detailing. The capsule breathes new life into Polo heritage pieces with new frog button details, dragon chest patches and jackets lined with royal silk. A collection of classics ranging from classic polos, Oxford shirt and Bayport windbreakers to casual tie-dye jumpers and accessories are given the dual-branded stamp of approval with CLOT’s signature Silk Royale print and Polo Ralph Lauren’s Polo Pony.
Reminiscent of the Polo Heritage ads of the 80s and 90s, photographer Kenneth Cappello reimagines the Ralph Lauren story through new, wide eyes for the campaign. Starring CLOT co-founder Edison Chen, the images lean on nostalgic references to merge the history of two cultural giants.
The collection will be available starting January 27th in JUICE locations worldwide, juicestore.com, select Dover Street Market stores, the POLO app, select Ralph Lauren locations worldwide, and ralphlauren.com
