Each season there are campaigns, and amongst those, there is a handful that really, properly stands out. For AW15 Marc Jacobs’ womenswear line-up – a diverse mix of females, each whom the designer told us via Instagram he had a strong personal connection with – was the one.
For SS16 it looks like Calvin Klein has picked up that trophy, tapping perhaps the most culturally relevant cast of the season…and getting them to tell us what they do in their pants, or, you know, their Calvins.
Shot by British photographer Tyrone Lebon – previously credited with bringing his strong visual aesthetic to Topshop and Stüssy – the new campaign brings together existing CK faces Justin Bieber and Kendall Jenner with FKA Twigs, Fetty Wap, Kendrick Lamar, Klara Kristin, Joey Bada$$, Abbey Lee Kershaw, Adwoah Aboah, Saskia de Brauw, Destiny Frasqueri, Sung Jin Park and plenty more.
As well as the static campaign, the brand also turned to Lebon to shoot the sexually charged commercial, above; Beliebers best be ready, as your boy Justin indulges the camera with the words, “Are you turned on right now? Yeah I’m turned on.”
