In Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, on an island away from modern life, five immense excavators from the mid-1990’s set the backdrop for the industrial open air museum that is Ferropolis. Integrated in the European Route of Industrial Heritage in 2005 the island has long been famous not only for the massive historical structures but also for being home to Melt! for 13 consecutive years.
The festival is returning to the “City of Steel” yet again this July with some of the best Rock and Electronic acts in the world for an unforgettably electrifying three-night-party. The sweet 16th edition of Melt! promises a super sweet line up. From German DJs like Berlin-based Modeselektor for a healthy dose of German electro at its best to UK acts like Disclosure, Django Django and Mercury prize winner: Alt-J, also showcasing big American artists like Flying Lotus and Azealia Banks, not to forget the infamous Swedish duo, The Knife.
All will all be there to grace the Melt! stagesand get everyone dancing. Also sure to bring masses of eager festival goers flocking to Ferropolis ahead of the weekend once again: The Melt! Pre-party. Wherewinner of the 2010 “Mom we’re playing at Melt!” new talent competition PTTNRS, a unique upbeat groovy electro quartet from Cologne, will make a reappearance on the IntroZelt stage.
