Video Premiere: Maybeshewill – In Amber

Post-rockers return in some style…

Leicester quintet Maybeshewill have been doing the post-rock-rather-excellently thing for a few albums now – three of them, indeed. Their fourth, ‘Fair Youth’, is forthcoming via Superball Music (65daysofstatic, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead), and if this preview cut that we’re premiering is anything to go on, it’s gonna be good.

‘In Amber’ showcases the instrumental act’s electronic leanings while still possessing more than enough of that tried-and-tested anthemic guitars-ahoy action. The video for the track presents the band at close quarters, in the round – which is fine for them, we’re sure, but not the best way to get an audience involved. There’s plenty going on outside of their live space, too – atmospheric shots that complement the music wonderfully well.

Having toured recently with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Three Trapped Tigers, Maybeshewill is a road-hardened unit, and one that you can see for yourself at the following shows:

July
26th – Tramlines Festival, Sheffield (w/ strings accompaniment)

August
15th – Hevy Fest, Port Lympne
16th – Pukkelpop, Hasselt, Belgium
30th – ArcTanGent Festival, Bristol

October
17th – The Garage, London

Find more dates – including some in China(!) – and information on the band’s website, here. ‘Fair Youth’ is released on August 25th.
