It's not often a band will get Bryan Ferry tapping along to one of their songs.
However Later… With Jools Holland seems to operate in a universe of its own. Australian psych juggernaut Tame Impala dropped by last night, blasting through a couple of tracks from their sublime 'Lonerism' long player.
Fresh from a lengthy period of touring, the band were battled hardened and ready to go. Racing through 'Elephant' the song somehow seemed bigger, harder, more in-yer-face than on the (admittedly, already amped up) studio version.
True space cadets, the band's voyages through the outer reaches of the consciousness did not go un-noticed. Legendary lounge lizard Bryan Ferry caught the performance, and was clearly impressed by the Australian group's set.
Watch it now.
