Premiere: The Jezabels – ‘The Others’

Australian group plot sold out Sydney run...

The Jezabels have always been ambitious.

But when the Australian band returned to Sydney, they knew that they wanted to push things harder than before.

Announcing a seven night run at the Lansdowne Hotel, the band watched as fans raced to snatch up tickets.

Completely sold out, the run coincides with the release of The Jezabels' new single 'The Others'. The band explain:

“We’re revisiting our romantic roots in this new song, though with a newfound directness. Lyrically it’s a reflection of the kind of intense loneliness that makes simply being in ones own body feel painful. The unsolvable predicament of ones desire for another crossing over into a desire to lose yourself, where the body is both the blissful point of contact, but also, the thing which keeps you constantly separate.”

“Musically we have tried to sit that on a soundscape that is both euphoric and melancholy, driving but pensive…”

Clash has first dibs on the video – watch it now.

The Jezabels' Sydney Lansdowne Hotel run opened on August 21st and finishes on August 28th.
