Premiere: The Blinders – ‘L’Etat C’est Moi’

A bold, brash return from the Mancunian group...

As statements go, it's one of history's most bold – and most fool-hardy.

When French monarch Louis XIV was faced with reformed, he declared "I am the state" – or in his own tongue, 'L'Etat C'est Moi'.

Keen fans of bold statements themselves, Manchester outfit The Blinders are quite taken with the story of the egotistic French King.

The title of their brash new single, it's a delirious indie stomper with a heart of gold, already a live anthem and soon to be a fan favourite.

Produced by Gavin Monaghan at Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton, it's a war-dance told from the perspective of a madman whose lust for power bordered on fantasy.

It's also a summer-fresh indie banger, and you can check it out below.
