Premiere: Jessica Murae – ‘Wild’

"I wanted to do something spontaneous..."

Sometimes you just need to cut loose.

It can be as simple as letting your mind wander, or as complex and involved as completely changing your life.

Jessica Murae feels like this every so often, and she'll try to reflect this in her art.

New cut 'Wild' has caught the attention of BBC Introducing, and it's a beautifully enticing introduction to her artistry.

Jessica tells Clash a little more: “I wrote the song at a time in my life when I wanted to do something spontaneous. It was also that feeling where you're doing the same thing day in and day out and it could almost lead you to self destruction; where at some point, if you don't change anything then you almost feel like you're on the edge to the complete unknown.”

The video itself was shot as Asylum Chapel, a real hidden gem in South East London. “The colours of pink, blue and gold looked so unique and against the derelict chapel that it very quickly became my dream place to film. The wide space in the chapel reflected the idea for the song – I was able to move and dance around the room and quite literally go 'Wild'.”
