Mellow Gang Blur The Lines Of Pop On ‘Vendetta’

Dreamy new shoegaze thrills from the London outfit...

Mellow Gang are aptly named.

The London four-piece have a lush, glistening sound, one filled with light, and – if we're honest – innately relaxing.

But there's a darkness under the surface, too. New EP 'Play' drops on June 23rd, and it grew out of an uncomfortable period for the band.

“It really had to provoke something that not everyone might be comfortable with,” lead vocalist Harriet Joseph tells us, “In a backlash period where I shut down creatively, I not only became aware of the effects on me but recently some nearest and dearest. Fears develop of boredom, complacency, stillness, imitation, opposition, addictions and then even nothing at all. I felt it across people I knew, but no one went there or talked about it.”

Clash is able to share the video for new cut 'Vendetta', and it finds Mellow Gang burrowing within themselves lyrically while musically moving ever outwards.

A beautiful mixture, you can check it out below.
