Lovechilde have always seemed rather otherworldly.
It could be the name, hinting as something illicit yet historic. It could be their sound, which nods towards several shades of noir. Or it could be their songwriting, which seemed to dwell on the outer fringes of society.
New EP 'Outta Tha Blue' features vocalist Eliot Thomas and producer James Dashwood, with work taking place in Hackney's Dreamtrak studio.
Tragically, during the sessions Eliot Thomas developed heart complications during sessions. "It felt like I was having a permanent heart attack, I was in bed sick, taking this awful medicine" he said. "I’d try and write music for as long as I could stay awake, pass out, wake up not remembering what I had done. It almost felt like someone else was writing, like some ethereal hand was guiding it along - which somehow allowed us to take more chances with the production and push it further".
Taken from the album, 'Sweat Lodge' is all distorted, minimal wave synths, beats that sting like needles and urgent, frenzied vocals.
