Russian Circles Reveal Album Five

Chicago instrumetallers tour, too...

Many musical moons ago, one amongst the Clash staffers (hello!) put on a show in London that saw a new-to-these-shores band play a set so scorching that the walls damn near melted. (There was certainly a lot of sweat in the room.) That band was Russian Circles, and since that show – and the release of the Chicago band's 2006 debut LP, 'Enter' – the trio has gone from strength to strength.

Still mightily impressive of dynamics, heavy where necessary and off-the-pedal for that essential contrast, Russian Circles – guitarist Mike Sullivan, drummer Dave Turncrantz and ex-Botch man Brian Cook on bass – are soon to release their fifth studio set, 'Memorial'. It's due in the UK in late October – on the 28th, to be exact, via Sargent House.

Recorded at their hometown's Electric Audio studios with Secret Machines' Brandon Curtis in the producer's seat, 'Memorial' features vocalist Chelsea Wolfe on its title track – and the same singer will tour with the band when they come to the UK and Europe later this year.

Those local dates, as follows:

October
24th – The Haunt, Brighton
25th – Gorilla, Manchester
26th – SWG3, Glasgow
27th – Button Factory, Dublin
29th – Electric Ballroom, London

A taste of 'Memorial' can be heard below, as its makers have released the track 'Deficit' as a public stream. Fans of Mono, Deafheaven, Mogwai and Mastodon: drink it in.
