Grammy Awards 2013 – Run Down Of The Winners

Black Keys, Mumford & Sons dominate...

The Black Keys and Mumford & Sons were amongst the big winners at last night's Grammy awards ceremony.

Ah, the Grammy awards. So often the subject of ridicule, it remains one of the most spectacular awards ceremonies on the planet, capable of drawing together a glittering array of performers.

Returning to the Staples Center last night (February 10th), the ceremony provided the usual array of thrills, spills and controversy. The big winners on the night were The Black Keys – the duo won four awards, while singer Dan Auerbach won two gongs in production categories.

Alongside this, Mumford & Sons scooped the prestigious 'Album of the Year' award, commenting: "We figured we weren't going to win anything, because the Black Keys have been sweeping up all day, and deservedly so," Marcus Mumford told the crowd.

Paul McCartney won 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album' for 'Kisses On The Bottom' while Skrillex won both 'Best Dance / Electronica Album' and 'Best Dance Recording'. Frank Ocean picked up the award for 'Best R&B Album' – prompting an emotional acceptance speech.

Performances on the night included a tribute to The Band's Levon Helm – led by Elton John, the impromptu group also featured members of The Alabama Shakes.
