Exceptional stuff
PEACE - In Love

Birmingham’s music scene nonchalantly rocked up and imposed itself nationally in 2012. A collection of bands that grew up together - Swim Deep, Jaws, and Peace - proved guitars are still worth playing, even though it’s increasingly harder to get noticed for doing so. With ‘In Love’ Peace aren’t reinventing what a band can be, but taking it back to basics and reminding us why they’re important: ‘Toxic’ fuses melancholic verses with a raw grunge chorus Tribes would kill for. ‘Waste Of Paint’ is a baggy ‘Fools Gold’ style song set for sticky indie dance-floors, and ‘California Daze’ is a ’60s flower power flag waving closer. It’s exceptional stuff.
