Grief can be a force of inspiration.
Sure, it's normal to feel pain, to succumb to the pressures of departure - but that same sense of loss can help fuel the creative faculties. Two very distinct talents, Tom Demac and Will Samson bonded recently after enduring a traumatic time.
The pair suffered the "recent and sudden loss of close family members just a few short months apart from each other" and opted to use music as a truly cathartic force.
The results are gathered on new 12 inch 'It Grows Again'. Uniting Tom Demac's fluid, bass heavy approach to techno with Will Samson's whispered, brutalised vocals, each track feels like a hymn to survival.
Out on November 5th via Will Saul's ever essential Aus Music imprint, Clash is able to premiere the final track on the EP. Tom Demac steps in to remix his own'Chasing Shadows', adding some light to the shade, some air to the dank atmospherics.
It's a rich, continually unfolding piece of music, one that crackles with a rare sense of poignancy.
Listen to it now.
