Labour MP Tom Watson has name checked fast rising Sheffield group Drenge in his letter of resignation.
Politics and music seldom mix. However that hasn't stopped a number of people on both sides of the fence from giving it a bloody good go. Labour MP Tom Watson went to Glastonbury at the weekend and - amid the glorious fields of Albion - the politician seemed to reach an epiphany.
On his return to work this week, the Shadow Cabinet member decided that enough, simply, was enough. Resigning from the Labour party, he will now continue on the back-benches after a typically colourful resignation letter.
In a parting thought, Tom Watson wrote: "John Humphrys asked me why you were not at Glastonbury this weekend. I said Labour leaders can’t be seen standing in muddy fields listening to bands. And then I thought how terribly sad that this is true. So: be that great Labour leader that you can be, but try to have a real life too. And if you want to see an awesome band, I recommend Drenge."
