Glasgow's The Lapelles are set to release a new studio album.
The band were on the rise last year, playing electric show after electric show when fate rather tragically intervened.
Singer Gary Watson died in an accident on his 22nd birthday, sparking a wave of tributes from those touched by the sheer potential of his work.
Partly as a tribute to their comrade, the remaining members of The Lapelles have decided to piece together a new studio album.
'The Lapelles' is available to order now, with the vinyl copies shipping in June. In a statement the band said:
We are proud to bring you 'The Lapelles'. Sadly, we’ll never know whether this was the album we were going to make, but it’s an album we’re all immensely proud of. One of Gary’s aims was to have his music on vinyl, in fact the tracklisting for this record was actually found scrawled on a napkin Gary had stored in his bedroom!
So here it is, 10 tracks, a collection of recordings, some studio, some home demos from 2014-2016.
We’d like to thank all of you for your kind words of support that you’ve given us during this difficult period. This album is for you, and we hope you enjoy it.
