When The Beatles initially began their career, mono was simply the de facto means of listening to music.
The incredible growth of technology during the 60s, though, meant that as the band's career progressed stereo became the dominant format.
A series of re-issue projects have underlined this, making the band's music available to a new generation but enshrining their recording in stereo.
Following a successful CD version in 2009, the Fab Four are now set to re-issue their studio output on vinyl as it was originally intended to be heard.
The band's albums will be pressed in mono, alongside a fresh edition of the 'Mono Masters' collection.
