Premiere: Paddy Hanna – ‘Chocolate And Salt’

Grand Pocket Orchestra frontman turns solo...

Paddy Hanna is one of Ireland's best kept secrets.

A songwriter with a poetic sense of lyricism, his work with Grand Pocket Orchestra marked Hanna out as a quite special artist.

Focussing on solo material, new single 'Underprotected' arrives on December 4th and it comes draped in Paddy's Dublin brogue.

The singer describes the track as "an ode to self-doubt, a story of embracing worth, while mourning the loss of a sorrow which once defined you".

Clash is able to premiere the flip and it's equally engrossing. 'Chocolate And Salt' veers between Edwyn Collins-style croon and something grittier, retaining the everyday-romanticism that blesses all of Paddy Hanna's work.
