A gutsy return from the one-time Gomez man...
Ben Ottewell

Ben Ottewell's voice is almost instantly recognisable.

As the frontman of Gomez his songwriting built up a devoted following, spurred on by the band's shock Mercury win.

Now focussing on his solo work, Ben Ottewell recently sealed off new album 'A Man Apart'.

The songwriter's third solo LP to date, it's marked by a supple blend of folk, Americana, and acoustic songcraft, all driven by that husky voice.

Co-written with childhood friend (and former Tunng member) Sam Genders, the record arrives on May 25th (pre-order LINK) but Clash is able to offer a preview.

New cut 'Watcher' is a neat return, reminiscent of Ben Ottewell's prior work while still treading an independent path of its own.

Tune in now.
