The unmistakable sound of the Big Easy will be re-created in London when a special New Orleans tribute event takes place at the O2 Arena on October 24th and 25th.

New Orleans sits at an important point in the Atlantic shipping route, meaning that people of all nationalities have passed through its welcoming doors. Long a city in love with music, New Orleans became famous due to the potent and distinctive sound of its musicians. Jazz began here, and blues flourished as wave after wave of artists created an entirely unique sound.

The O2 Arena will play host to a massive event that will feature over 20 musical acts including some of the biggest names to have emerged from the Big Easy. Dr John is a musical legend, his 70s output blending funk, rock, blues and jazz into a tasty dish of musical gumbo. Allen Toussaint is a legendary music producer and songwriter, responsible for countless hits through many decades. Also appearing at the event will be Kermit Ruffins, Marcia Ball, BeauSoleil and The Rebirth Brass Band.

No detail has been spared in order to offer a true taste of the New Orleans experience. An exact recreation of the city's infamous Bourbon Street has been built, and New Orleans cuisine will be available alongside a performance by Mardis Gras indians.

This extraordinary celebration to one of 20th century music's most influential cities is surely an event not be missed.

Festival New Orleans is set to take place in the O2 Arena on October 24th and 25th.
