Pittsburgh MC Mac Miller is back in a big way in 2013, with his second studio album, 'Watching Movies With The Sound Off' (Clash review), picking up a succession of great reviews, and selling six figures in its first week stateside against tough competition from a certain Kanye West and J Cole.
The album's cover features a fully naked Mac sat at a table, only a 'sticker' warning of the set's strong language and adult themes preserving his modesty.
But on the set of the shoot, Miller was starkers. And who'd he get to take the album cover shot? His mom, obviously...
Speaking to Clash for a forthcoming feature, Miller revealed:
“It’s great to do that with my family, because my mom gets excited. You know, no one takes a better picture of you than your mother.”
Also on set was his brother, who worked on the actual design of the 'Watching Movies...' artwork. And the meaning behind the image, with that tasty looking apple just begging to be bitten into?
"I’ve been chilling on the real description because it’s funny that everyone tries to figure it out. There’s the idea that an apple is good for you; I went through this period in life where all I ate was apples, but there’s also some Adam and Eve shit.”
