Bloc Party are streaming a short snippet from their upcoming 'Tapes' mix.

Bloc Party have always admitted a debt to electronic music. Frontman Kele Okereke recently unveiled an electro driven solo guise, while the band themselves have frequently handed their material to guest remixers.

Now the band are set to take part in the 'Tapes' mix series. Set to be released on October 14th, the mix flits between frothy house, driving techno and even the odd nod towards Afrobeat.

Compiled by Kele Okereke, the frontman recently commented: "I hope that this mix will illustrate where my fascination with dance music has come from. To me dance music is about transcendence. I think this mix will show it’s not just a passing thing for me. It’s something that’s always been there and it’s something that I couldn’t live without."

Now a 20 minute preview has gone online, features portions from the mix blended into one, continuous preview.

'Tapes' is set to be released on October 14th. Kele Okereke recently sat down with Clash for a special instalment of Culture Clash - check out that feature HERE.
