Brooklyn Jets row increases...
Jay Z

A week in the life of Jay Z...

Reports broke yesterday (January 23rd) that the rapper was assisting on a new HBO comedy. Penned by Calvin Harris, the proposed series focusses on the world of EDM and features contributions from 'Trainspotting' author Irvine Welsh.

Due to his sports interests, Jay Z has been hit with a $600 million law suit. The rapper previously owned Brooklyn Jets, and has been named as the defendant in a court claim by someone who claims to have trademarked the franchise name some ten years ago.

Dr. Francois de Cassagnol filed the complaint in December, with Radar unearthing court documents which claim that the NBA, Jay Z, and developer Bruce Ratner "fraudulently conspired" to use "loopholes" in the U.S. Patent Office in order to use the name.

The case is ongoing. (via FACT)

Thankfully, Jay Z is set to end the week on a high. The Grammy awards return on Sunday (January 26th) and the rapper will perform at the lavish ceremony alongside Beyonce.
