Frank Ocean Is “10, 11 Songs” Into New Album

Follow up to 'Channel Orange' under way...

Frank Ocean has seemingly completed "10, 11 songs" for his new album.

Not quite his debut album, 'Channel Orange' is undoubtedly the first statement from Frank Ocean that most people would have heard. Exposing the American artist to a global audience, it has won critical admiration from virtually every organ worth their salt.

So not pressure crafting a follow up, then. Frank Ocean is currently holed up in Bora Bora working on new material, and seems to be meeting the challenge head on.

Chatting to Zane Lowe on Radio 1, the singer said “I’m 10, 11 songs into this next thing,” before adding: “It’s another cohesive thing, bordering on a concept record again.” Details are still thin on the ground, although Frank Ocean did reveal that he wanted to explore the “beach theme” of 'Channel Orange' hidden track ‘Golden Girl’.

Pharrell Williams had previously expressed his belief that Frank Ocean would tour for two years, but the R&B singer has nixed this idea. “I can’t tour for two years straight because I have to record,” he told Zane Lowe. (via FACT)
