Deep Throat Choir Channel Gertrude Stein On ‘Hunter’

New album 'Be OK' is incoming...

Deep Throat Choir rehearse each week in a church in East London.

An all-female choir, they were born out of Luisa Gerstein's desire to strip music back to its formative elements.

Since then, the project has grown in some surprising directions. Deep Throat Choir have worked with South London selectors Horse Meat Disco, while their live performances have become embracing, celebratory affairs.

Working closely with Dan Blackett (Landshapes) and David Holmes at Soup Studios, debut album 'Be OK' was pieced together in an attempt to capture that crackling live energy.

Out on February 17th via Bella Union, Deep Throat Choir have decided to deliver a fresh teaser – just in time for Valentine's.

'Hunter' is a soaring, ambitious work, one that finds each voice blended into one.

Utilising fragments of a poem by Gertrude Stein, 'Hunter' is a fascinating piece of music that washes over you in waves. Tune in now.

Catch Deep Throat Choir at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club on March 10th – tickets.
