Declan McKenna has had to grow up quickly.

The songwriter’s fame has blossomed, and with it has come growing responsibility, as the crowds get bigger and voices get louder.

The young English artist was staying in Paris last year during those awful attacks, and it left an enormous impression on him.

New song ‘Kids Don’t Wanna Come Home’ is partially informed by this, with Declan musing on the world the older generation are leaving behind.

Asking people not to take kids for granted, he makes a decent case for youth being a lot more socially and politically aware than they are often given credit for.
