Having trialled the format successfully this summer, Channel 4 are delivering the second instalment of their 'House Party' on New Years Eve.
A radical departure from the BBC's Noel and Blobby-led 90's offerings, in 2012 a televised 'House Party' consists of your TV screen or laptop acting as a portal that beams a line up of DJ's directly into your home. Basically Channel 4 have decided that if you take away the studio audience and gunging incidents then it really feels as if a Lilliputian-sized version of Annie Mac is fiddling with Traktor in the corner of the living room.
Channel 4 Arts Commissioner, Tabitha Jackson has said: "There couldn't be a better night than New Year's Eve for us once again to turn the nation's living room into the ultimate interactive 'House Party'. Celebrating with the best artistic talent, Channel 4's 'House Party: NYE' will not only offer an innovative alternative to the usual New Year TV diet but will be the biggest and best party of the year. Pressure's off, New Year's Eve is already sorted."
So far the only line up announcements are that Annie Mac will return and Charlie Sloth will be the Master of Ceremonies, but it's also been confirmed that social media will be playing a big part in this extravaganza so keep you eyes peeled on your Twitter feed for further updates.
