Anna Meredith Wins The SAY Award 2016

'Varmints' rules supreme...

Anna Meredith has scooped this year's SAY Award for her album 'Varmints'.

The award – designed to honour the year's best Scottish album – is always hotly contested, and this year's shortlist was packed with talent.

Typically broad, the SAY Award found time to highlight music from CHVRCHES, Steve Mason, C Duncan, LAU, Emma Pollock, FFS, and more.

The ceremony took place last night (June 29th) with Anna Meredith emerging in front.

The composer's album 'Varmints' is a wonderful release, packed with imagination and melodic about-turns that produce the most remarkable ear-worms.

Well done, Anna! She seems to be delighted…
