Following this morning’s exciting news unveiling Karen Elson as the first of our new issue’s cover stars, we hereby announce that Mississippi brothers Rae Sremmurd are its second.

Aaquil “Slim Jxmmi” Brown and his younger sibling, Khalif “Swae Lee” Brown, are enjoying a huge wave of success right now, thanks to ‘Black Beatles’, a Gucci Mane-assisted single from last year’s ‘SremmLife 2’. The early fan favourite gained notoriety on a whole new level when it became the soundtrack to the mannequin challenge, and propelled the rap duo to an international audience. “Everything has just been times 10,” Jxmmi tells Clash of the last 12 months.

Loved by Travi$ Scott and coveted by Beyoncé, Rae Sremmurd’s trajectory is shooting skywards, and they’re more than ready for the big time. “We’ve been working our whole lives to reach success and be financially stable,” Swae tells Clash. “Now we’re finally here.”

Interviewed by Grant Brydon, with portraits by Michael Mayren and fashion by Vincent Levy.

Also in the new issue are features with Karen Elson, Ryan Adams, Sundara Karma, Big Sean, Raye, Julia Michaels, Ray Davies, Tinie Tempah, and James Blunt. Clash Issue 103 is available to buy online now ahead of its release next week – get the magazine here.

You’ll have to wait until tomorrow to discover the identities of covers three and four!
