Actress is set to contribute to new project Different Trains 1947.
The project uses Steve Reich's epic minimalist work as a means to analyse Indian independence, to look at the ways the country has changed.
Piecing together elements of the Indian diaspora, artistic laboratory Metal has worked alongside Barbican Centre, Warp Records, and Boiler Room, plus Indian partners Wild City and What About Art? on the project.
London producer Actress, Sandunes and Jack Barnett (These New Puritans) will contribute to three unique audio-visual performances later this year.
Two performances have been confirmed in the UK, while one will see the crew travel to India. Sandunes comments:
“I love the idea of breathing new life into the Different Trains universe and am looking forward to building bridges between geographies and generations through the music that's going to come from this”.
