Declan McKenna’s Latitude Playlist

Some tunes for your Suffolk journey...

Declan McKenna is – at the time of writing – on his way to Suffolk.

The gates of Latitude are swinging open, and the prodigal songwriter is set to take his blistering live show to the award-winning festival.

Bags are packed, the essentials have been grabbed… now all he needs are some tunes.

So, with that in mind, Clash is pleased to present Declan McKenna's Latitude playlist.

Tune in now…

Oscar – 'Sometimes'

Am excited to finally catch this set at latitude, as I've missed them a couple of times. I love this tune so much – to me it's like a garage hit from 2003 but now – which is an amazing thing to pull off FYI…

– – –

Roots Manuva – 'Don't Breath Out'

The new record is fantastic and this is one of my favourites, it's Roots Manuva, it's just really good innit.

– – –

David Bowie – 'Moonage Daydream'

I have to put a Bowie track in here considering he takes up 90% of the music I listen to, so this is one I've listened to a lot recently.

– – –

Beck – 'WOW'

Beck doing something else again, this time some kind of trap crossover? A proper banger, and the video is quality too.

– – –

Kaytranada – 'BUS RIDE'

One of the coolest things I've discovered this year, groovy af… if I had to put it into words, it's some sort of cinematic jazz experiment I guess?

– – –

Transviolet – 'LA Love'

A fantastic example of some really great new pop! Been listening to this loads recently.

– – –

Christine and the Queens – 'iT'

I could probably name you about ten people who have all of a sudden become Christine's biggest fan ever in the past week or two. She's what BuzzFeed would describe as "Everything".

– – –

Chance the Rapper – 'All We Got'

Chance is doing it over and over again so this is a bit of him doing it.

– – –

Nina Simone – 'Mississippi Goddamn'

A pretty intense track to listen to, one that makes you think. Nina Simone at her absolute best.

– – –

Dirty Projectors – 'Two Young Sheeps' (Not on YouTube! So here's 'Two Doves')

A sloppy thing of beauty, somewhere between chilled out and slightly scary.

– – –

Latitude runs between July 15th – 17th.
