Live in session...

Endorsed by Mumford & Sons, Communion has begun to bear fruit.

The collective endeavour was designed to promote the freeflow of ideas, with songwriters coming together to work on new material. Michael Kiwanuka was an early success, gaining critical attention with his wonderfully sun-kissed take on acoustic soul.

Now Ben Howard is reaching prominence. Signed to Island, the songwriter takes much of his influences from the label's vaults: listening to his work, you can hear huge dollops of John Martyn, Nick Drake and more.

Gentle, soothing acoustic vibrations, Ben Howard's debut album 'Every Kingdom' was released earlier this year. Hitting the Top Ten, the songwriter has been able to sustain this early success with sold out show after sold out show.

Caught here with just an acoustic for company, Ben Howard plays a quick version of 'Dancing In The Dark'. Surely winter sunsets were made for tracks like this?
