According to Happy Socks, the Stockholm based label founded by two friends in 2008, Snoop Dogg’s sock affair began at the start of 2013. “The bold prints and designs soon became a staple,” they claim.
Adopting socks and sandals before it entered trend territory, the rapper’s affection for the brand is easy to believe, as his Insta displays prove.
But wearing nice socks and producing nice socks are two different things (of course), and this month Snoop adopts the latter, collaborating with Happy Socks on a pattern heavy three-piece collection.
“For many years,” he says, in regards to ‘The Art of Inspiration’ title, “I’ve always wanted to paint, and I’ve been exploring the craft behind the scenes. I find that painting allows me to explore certain emotions I’ve never been able to express through my music or acting.”
And of the hook up, he confirms a natural fit, adding that, “they saw what I was doing and provided me with another platform to further display my artistic abilities.”
The collection – which follows pairings with the likes of Opening Ceremony and Keds – is available as individual pairs or in a collective boxed edition.
