River Island Design Forum: YMC

The label marks its 20th anniversary with River Island collab.

For its tenth season, the BFC backed initiative from River Island – River Island Design Forum – has something a little special up its sleeve, partnering with the iconic label You Must Create as it marks its 20th anniversary.

Mixing up the rules adhered to previously by collaborators like Christopher Shannon, James Long and Lou Dalton, this season’s partnership celebrates the best of Jimmy Collin and Fraser Moss’s sartorial output.

Explains the latter: “We had never worked with a high street brand before, but when the opportunity came to work with River Island we were confident it would be the right move.”

“When it came to designing the collection,” the creative director continues, “we wanted to not only ensure that the River Island man was always front of mind, but also to create a collection that was true to the YMC DNA.”

The respective collection is composed of 15 pieces first debuted by YMC between the years 1996 and 2015; the ‘Sabbath’ knit from AW03 makes an appearance, likewise AW09’s Rib Collar Shirt and a baseball shirt from AW14.

Not dropping until early next month, the sketches above give a first hint at what to expect from the pair's hook up, set to launch with a short film at London Collections: Men.
