Since its arrival in 2004, Danish label Norse Projects has focused its attention on the menswear market, marking its territory within the strong Scandinavian line-up of brands marrying streetwear appropriate separates with a Cos like appreciation for subtlety. Earlier in 2016 there was that collaboration with Dr. Martens, a signifier of sorts of its industry standing.
Describing itself on socials as ‘a development focused company and design studio, working within the boundaries of art, design and functionality’, the latest addition to its offering is a womenswear collection: today drops the visuals for AW16.
Now three seasons in, this latest line is, according to Copenhagen, inspired by the island of Bornholm, with the land’s artistic identity (and a focus on nature, coastal environments, and Baltic weather) referenced across the collection; texture, palette and silhouette all in.
In a more direct move, elsewhere the spirit of the people of Bornholm (notably those involved in craft) is tapped, with Norse Projects regenerating traditional crafts with a modern spirit; negotiated appropriately above, with that on point choice of footwear. Goals etc.
