Denim brand collaborates with rising soul star

Although this year it turns an impressive 70, the LEE Rider Jacket shows little signs of retiring.

Indeed, it’s the focal point of a new collaboration that celebrates Lee Jeans’ SS18 collection, for which electronic soul producer Jordan Rakei has contributed designs towards two unique and bespoke jackets.

The campaign explores Rakei’s own personal and pioneering journey, which has taken him from his South Pacific roots to the catalogues of eminent elecronic labels Rhythm Section International and Ninja Tune. This resourceful and adventurous spirit is reflective of the LEE Rider Jacket’s own history, which has developed significantly from its impulsive conception on behalf of the Cowboy Association of America.

Rakei’s jackets will be unveiled at a special event in Lee’s flagship store in Covent Garden on June 7th.
