‘A Russian take on a West Coast staple’ reads the tagline of the latest Gosha Rubchinskiy x Vans hook up; a ten minute jolly on the Overground suggests the latter could well be replaced with ‘London’, but that’s neither here nor there presumably.
Anyway, while one (sort of) just dropped a new photobook of skaters – ‘Youth Hotel’ arrived at the end of last year; works from which feature in Fashion Space Gallery’s new exhibition – the other is about to celebrate the big half century anniversary.
But there’s still plenty to be done day to day, birthday vibes aside, hence the latest in the pair’s on-going collaboration. Working here with the ‘Authentic’ silhouette (a classic, naturally), the Russian designer pitches four colourways – white, black, tea rose and sky blue – each with red branding on the heel and black soles underfoot.
